The Continuing Airworthiness Regulation (EU)1321/2014 has been amended by the adoption of Opinion 06/2016 which introduces the concept of safety management into Part-M. Although safety management is a familiar term, what does it actually mean to those managing the continuing airworthiness of their fleets? What terminology is going to be introduced into legislation? Do I need to do anything differently as a result? Workshop details
Course format: The workshop will follow the concept of facilitation as opposed to instruction. It is a balanced mix of PowerPoint Presentations and challenging interactive discussion.
Course level: Practitioner Level Training (P) is suitable for those who have worked in the subject for some time, are familiar with core terminologies and concepts and are looking to develop or update their level of knowledge and practical understanding.
Assessment process: No formal assessment. Formative feedback is provided by the facilitator.
Course size: 16 persons maximum at our Aviation Safety Academy or on-site at your facility
Managing Safety should not be considered a bolt-on extra. Your CAMO will have to introduce a Management System (if it does not already have one) and within that manage safety. You will need to demonstrate compliance with this requirement, changes to your CAME and associated policies and procedures are necessary. By guiding you through the requirements this workshop enables you to continue with business as usual and achieve safer outcomes.
Yes, you will. The transition from subpart-G to Part-CAMO requires the Competent Authorities to approve organisations in accordance with Part-CAMO. The transition period is effective from 24 March 2020 and you have until 24 September 2021 to gain your new approval. This workshop will help you develop a plan to achieve this.
As a minimum you will need a person who is responsible for the management of safety. Whether this is a new stand-alone role, or covered by existing staff, depends on the size, complexity and type of operations you are supporting. It also depends on how you wish to integrate Safety Management into your current structure. This workshop can help you assess the scope of work involved in the management of safety and how it may affect your existing capacity.
