In a recent discussion with our Marketing Manager, Bethan Flynn, Managing Principal Consultant, Sarah Booth, emphasised the critical importance of prioritising sleep health. As a leading expert in Fatigue Risk Management (FRM), Sarah shared valuable insights into how sleep health can be measured and improved using the RU_SATED model, developed by Dr. Daniel Buysse in 2014:
Regularity: Do you go to bed and wake up at approximately the same time each day?
Satisfaction: How satisfied are you with your sleep?
Alertness: Are you able to make it through the day without dozing?
Timing: Does the midpoint of your sleep fall between 2 and 4 in the morning?
Efficiency: Are you spending less than 30 minutes awake during the night?
Duration: Are you getting between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night?
Watch the video below to find out more about this model and hear practical tips on how to enhance sleep health.
Sleep health is a cornerstone of effective FRM. At Baines Simmons, we offer a range of courses designed to help organisations mitigate human error and understand human performance. Some of our most popular courses focus on integrating sleep health into broader fatigue management strategies.
