Complying with the requirements of the UK MAA’s Design Approved Organization Scheme (DAOS) can feel like a challenge. Approval is subject to adherence with RA5850 so an understanding of this (and its original sources in EMAR and EASA Part 21 Subpart J) is essential. It is, however, easy to get bogged down. The solution is to recognise the regulatory intent so that you can set up a high performing “design management system”, which is also compliant to RA5850. If performance is the objective, compliance is a natural result. The inverse, unfortunately, is seldom true.

How will this course benefit me?
This two-day course takes a practical approach to the applicable DAOS Regulatory Articles, providing the necessary insight to (a) ensure your organization is fully compliant to obtain and maintain approval, and (b) to ensure the intelligent adoption of the regulatory intent without adding any unnecessary bureaucracy which could stifle innovation and creativity that is so necessary for design engineers.
Using industry experience and examples of best practice, you will explore the key elements of the RA5850 (as well as the referenced RA1014) rules so that you will be able to ensure that compliance is achieved with minimum disruption to an existing performing design management system.
