• Introduction to high-level applicable regulations and the structure of the Implementing Rules and supporting Certification Specifications
• Familiarisation with the EU Regulation(s) containing Part 21 and how to manage amendments
• Review the reasoning behind Part 21, from both organisational and regulatory perspectives
• Summary of all Part21 Subparts to put Subpart J in context
• Detailed review of Part 21 Subpart J
• Practical advice on the Design Assurance System (including the Handbook, Procedures, Organisation Charts and the key roles and responsibilities)
• Part 21 amendments in the EASA pipeline (e.g. SMS)
• Performance-based environment and introduction of the concept of “what does good look like?”

This practitioner level course is specifically designed for Design Organisations who hold (or intend to hold) approval for TC, STC, ETSO and Major Repairs or who want to self-approve Minor changes and repairs. There are no prerequisites for this course and no specific prior knowledge regarding EASA is required. Individuals in the following positions would benefit from a comprehensive understanding on how Subpart J influences their daily responsibilities:
