This perspective enables him to provide a ‘big picture’ viewpoint, understanding the reality of interrelationships between aviation business units and the impact of regulation.

Expertise and capability
Consultation in airworthiness (Part-M and Part-145), SMS, data management and strategy – calling upon skills developed in CAMO, MRO and engineering environments.
Enthusiastic training and facilitation on subjects including continuing airworthiness, maintenance and safety with experience delivering at a technical and strategic level.
Analysis of organisational systems and process development dedicated to improving business performance through optimising procedures and communication.
Career background and experience
Prior to joining Baines Simmons in 2018, Ludo started his aviation career as a Design Engineer for a landing gear OEM, later taking a role between design and operation, as an Integrated Logistics Support engineer and project manager for a multinational Avionics systems provider.
Ludo is a former EASA Form-4 holder, as the Continuing Airworthiness Manager for a growing UK airline, responsible for a variety of types including helicopters, piston aircraft and large jets. He has worked closely with the regulator at various levels in relation to continued airworthiness and unconventional design changes.
Ludo was also Engineering and General Manager of a large 3rd-party Maintenance and Repair Organisation, leading a successful programme of change.
He has a first-class degree in aerospace engineering, is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and an active commercial pilot.
