UK CAA / EASA Air Operations Requirements - Effective Implementation

TR35 | 2 days

The UK CAA / EASA Air Operations Regulation is complicated and lengthy. It can be a challenge to navigate through it successfully and to identify specific subject matter, elements of which can sometimes be found across multiple locations. A lack of familiarity with and understanding of the Regulation will act as a barrier to effective implementation and lead to missed opportunities for improved safety performance.

This course provides knowledge of the structure and language of the Regulation and how to begin to implement its provisions, with an emphasis on the management system philosophy.

Frequently asked questions

I'm a CAT operator so don't I just need to read Part CAT?

No. Part ORO, including the Management System requirements, applies to all air operators except for NCO operators, and you may also need to apply for specific approvals under Part SPA. This course will give you an understanding of what parts of Air Ops govern your operation, and what action you need to take to satisfy the regulator that you comply.

My company only manages bizjet aircraft on behalf of their owners, so aren't we a private operation? I don't think Air Ops applies to us at all.

If you are the operator of a non-commercial flight with Complex Motor-Powered Aircraft, then you are subject at least to Part NCC and Part ORO. But you may also find that even when you carry only the owner, the flight is legally a commercial operation and subject to both Part ORO and Part CAT. This course will give you an understanding of what parts of Air Ops govern your operation, and what action you need to take to manage your operation safely and satisfy the regulator that you comply.

What's all this about management systems? We've had an ops manual for years - what's changed?

The Management System requirements are set out in Part ORO and thus apply to all air operators (except NCO). This course looks at these requirements and helps you understand the action you need to take to manage your operation safely and satisfy the regulator that you comply.
