Issued in 2012 by the European Defence Agency’s MAWA (Military Airworthiness Authorities) Forum, EMAR 145 outlines the requirements for maintenance organisations. The harmonisation of military airworthiness regulation across Europe is intended to reap cost savings for everyone in the long term as well as facilitate more effective sharing of resources between EDA member states. Encouragingly, EMARs are also being recognised by Military Authorities outside the EU, further promoting the opportunity for cross-border cooperation. To evaluate how you and your organisation can benefit from this regulatory approach and the mutual recognition between states, forming an understanding of this requirement and its intent is vital.
