Jack Coleman

Jack brings knowledge and training capability within Part 21 organisations following a career which includes civil and military industry experience. Jack’s primary skills are within Airworthiness and Mechanical Design, with experience of developing a Part 21 Subpart J DOA, to conducting major civil/military aircraft projects. The variety of projects allows Jack to pull on experiences across differing aircraft types, and scenarios – all whilst negotiating the varied regulations and recommended practises.

Expertise and capability

Part 21 Subpart J knowledge and application:
Over eight years of industry experience in both civil (EASA/CAA) and military (MAA/DOAS) domains.
Part 21 knowledge, including Subpart J interface with Subpart C, D, G, K, P, Q, Part 145 and CAMO:
Industry experience within an airline, maintenance facility.
Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) experience:
Two years Mechanical and (partial) structures specialism across CS23 thru to CS-29 aircraft.
Sub-contractor management (testing, production, maintenance) all under the control of the Part 21 Subpart J environment.
Mentoring process (both being the mentor and mentee).
Career background and experience

Prior to joining Baines Simmons in December 2021, Jack started his career at Monarch Aircraft Engineering’s Design Organisation Approval (DOA), and then moved to two additional DOAs. Most recently, his role was Lead Mechanical Design Engineer at Raytheon, predominantly supporting the Sentinel and then the Shadow aircraft.

 

Jack’s achievements include:

Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) within EASA DOA.
MSc Aircraft Engineering (Cranfield University).
Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (MRAeS).
Member of the Sentinel SIMS and OLM Development and Integration Team (Raytheon).
Created a profit making business from a dormant EASA Part21 Subpart J approval.
